Help EC Name Its Teddy Bear

EC needs help in choosing the perfect name for its Teddy Bears.

Extraordinary Conceptions recently announced their new “Teddy Bears” as a symbol of comfort for those embarking on a surrogacy journey. A shipment of adorable stuffed toys just arrived to their San Diego headquarters.

Despite the miles between Extraordinary Conceptions and their intended parents or surrogates, these Teddy Bears are meant to provide another level of compassionate support up until that incredible moment where parenthood dreams come true.

A symbolic message such as this needs a special name.

“We need your help in choosing the perfect name for our Teddy Bears which is indeed a new addition to our surrogacy agency family,” said Mario Caballero, chief executive officer of Extraordinary Conceptions. “We have a team who will be vetting the names and the person who thinks of the best Teddy Bear name ‘first’ will be sent a thank-you gift card for taking part in this.”

Extraordinary Conceptions, an international egg donor and surrogate agency home-based in San Diego County, is accepting Teddy Bear name submissions beginning on November 20 and closing this naming think tank on November 30.

For those who would like to participate, please submit name ideas to Extraordinary Conceptions’ Facebook page under the comments section of the Teddy Bear post pinned at the top (https://www.facebook.com/ExtraConception/).

So why were Teddy Bears chosen?

Caballero shared how he and his wife have had a longtime connection with Teddy Bears which began after the 6.7 magnitude 1994 Northridge earthquake in California. Like many others, sleeping through the night was difficult because of the intense aftershocks. They discovered through a program how sleeping with a Teddy Bear could ease the evening tension.

And it helped.

As the years passed, they procured these special stuffed toys which brought them emotional comfort even through their difficult years of infertility. After Caballero’s twins were born via surrogacy, these same Teddy Bears gave their own children emotional support.

For Caballero, their Extraordinary Conceptions Teddy Bears will provide comfort to their intending parents who yearn for a child and even their surrogates.

“Sometimes surrogates may not have a successful transfer the first time, and it can be just as stressful for them as it is for her intending parents,” Caballero said. “Our Teddy Bears, I believe, will bring comfort in many different situations.”

Extraordinary Conceptions looks forward to the different names people will be submitting beginning on Nov. 20.

“We cannot wait for the perfect name to roll in and to give that creative thinker a gift card to say thank you,” he said.
