Egg Donation and Surrogacy in British Columbia, Canada
Since opening in 2005, our caring team at Extraordinary Conceptions has worked with surrogates, egg donors, and intended parents to build beautiful families. This journey began in Carlsbad, California, where we built our original headquarters. Over the past fifteen years, our company has grown quite a bit beyond the Golden State. We’ve worked with countless parents across the US and Canada to help build a family.
Over the years, we’ve assisted numerous families with surrogacy and egg donation in British Columbia , as well as throughout the country. That’s why we decided to open a second headquarters in Canada. While this new centre is located in Ontario, we will be providing services across the entire country.
By opening a Canadian centre, those looking into egg donation and surrogacy in British Columbia don’t need a passport to work with our team face-to-face. Potential donors, surrogates, and intended parents can meet in person, and make use of all of the resources we provide. Our Toronto home is cosy, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need to begin your journey, including a passionate team with years of experience.
Regardless of where in North America you may be, rest assured that Extraordinary Conceptions has your best interest in mind as you take the steps into building your family— or giving intended parents the gift of a lifetime. We work exclusively with the continent’s top IVF clinics and doctors, and can put you in touch with local, reputable family and reproductive lawyers as well.
Egg Donation and Surrogacy in British Columbia: Information for Intended Parents
Sometimes, it takes a village. And that’s okay— we’re here to help you grow your community.
If growing your family requires the helping hands of a surrogate or egg donor, you’re far from alone. We’ve worked with countless families across BC who have been in your exact shoes. Today, they are busy and happy mums and dads with healthy children. That same future is well within your grasp, and we’re here to make it a reality.
We offer the following services to our intended parents:
- A database of over 3,600 egg donors
We know that choosing a donor takes time, and it’s something you’d like to get started on ASAP. That’s why, once you send us your intended parents application, you will have instant access to our database of nearly 4,000 egg donors across both the US and Canada. These donors come from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, so you will be able to find the right fit for your family. So, if you’re a Chinese-Canadian family, you will likely be able to find a donor with a similar background to yours.
- Assistance in multiple languages
Vancouver is one of the most diverse cities on the planet— that’s why we love it! There are immigrants from all over the world living here, from Malaysia to New Zealand to Uganda. We know that English and French are most certainly not the only languages spoken by our clients— for example, we hear Chinese on the streets of Vancouver every day! We do our best to accommodate that— in order to work with as many donors, surrogates, and intended parents as possible, we’ve ensured that our team is multilingual.
- Gestational surrogates
Please note that, though gestational surrogacy options are possible only where applicable/legal, that includes Canada!
- S.A.F.E program
The Single Agency Fee Experience, or S.A.F.E, was designed to protect our intended parents. This program works as an investment— if your first egg donation or surrogacy cycle didn’t work out, you’re far from the end of the line. You’ll be able to try again with us and start over with a new donor or surrogate— without paying any new agency fees. (*Some restrictions may apply.)
- STRESS-FREE program
This is an automatic benefit instantly applied to all of our intended parents. The STRESS-FREE program allows intended parents to wait until their donor and/or surrogate has been approved by their IVF clinic before they need to pay full funds. We also ensure that you are entitled to view our database and begin your surrogate search without paying any fees.
- Onsite specialists and services
As exciting as this journey is, it can feel complicated. That’s why we have an onsite team of specialists— to help our intended parents with each aspect of their journey. Some of our intended parents choose to work with our licensed marriage & family therapist, while others make use of our insurance specialist, notary, or travel department. Whatever you need, we’re here to assist.
Receiving an Egg Donation in British Columbia
Choosing an egg donor is not something one does overnight. It takes lots of time and careful consideration— and we want to give that to you. That’s why we open our database up to our intended parents as soon as they fill out their applications. This expansive database features multicultural egg donors from all across North America. There are no strings attached here— you can simply browse and get an idea of what you are looking for on your own time and in a private space.
That being said, we’re always just a phone call or visit away. Our coordinators are available whenever you need, and are ready to help you understand the specifics of an egg donation procedure.

This can be done anytime, anywhere. Simply create a profile with Extraordinary Conceptions, and you’ll be able to fill out your application online.
- Find a Match
Once you’re accepted as one of our donors, your information will go onto our database. Once a pair of intended parents shows interest in you, they’ll give us a shout, and you’ll get a call from our coordinator.
- Undergo Screening
To ensure the safety of everyone, you’ll undergo a few screenings and tests. This can take a few months, and involves a physical and psychological examination, STD and drug screenings, a background check, and genetic testing.
- Work With Lawyers
In a process that takes about a month, you’ll work with your intended parents and both of your lawyers to write up a fair contract. This will protect everybody involved, including the coming baby.
- Take Your Meds
You will be expected to make quite a few doctors visits in the time leading up to your retrieval. You’ll be monitored, give frequent blood work, and undergo vaginal ultrasounds. During this period, you will also be required to give yourself daily injections.
- Retrieval Time!
The moment has arrived. The retrieval process, which is minimally invasive, will take under an hour. Though some donors have a follow-up appointment, most are finished after their retrieval procedure. Head home, relax, and enjoy some down-time. You’ve done something wonderful.
Egg donors who work with Extraordinary Conceptions are entitled to a paid trip for two to wherever they choose to donate— that can be here in Canada or in the US. You are also welcome to utilise our services at any time; that includes fertility and genetic profiling and access to our licensed therapists. We’ll also connect you to other current and previous donors, so you can speak to someone who’s been in your shoes.

- You must have a healthy BMI of 27 or under.
